How does it work?

Generally, devices for hair reduction beam highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light which then destroys the hair. The most effective laser for hair reduction (particularly for fine and light hair) has historically been the Alexandrite laser. However, limitations when treating darker skin types kept it from being the universal choice for providers and many people have had to settle for less effective laser hair reduction options. Until now…the Motus AY is the first, high-speed Alexandrite laser that makes it possible for light and dark skin types to benefit from the effectiveness of this laser! This breakthrough is possible because of Moveo technology — a handpiece that delivers fast, more efficient energy to destroy the hair in a way that is painless and free from side-effects.

What makes the Motus AY different from other lasers?

The three main differences between the Motus AY and other technologies are:

  1. Total Comfort - It’s Painless!

  2. Speed and Effectiveness of the treatment.

  3. Use across skin-types.

The Motus AY eliminates the trade-offs that come with other lasers. For example, a commonly used “YAG” laser can be used for hair reduction across skin types BUT is less effective and can cause harm/adverse reactions. Other technologies are highly effective but treatments are difficult to tolerate and can come with negative side effects.

Will my treatment hurt?

One of the major benefits of the Motus AY, is that the Moveo technology eliminates the discomfort of typical laser hair reduction. At most, you might only feel a warming sensation. To say it easily, this treatment is highly comfortable!

How many sessions will I need for hair reduction?

The number of sessions required to eliminate hair depends on the individual. A typical laser hair reduction regimen is 6-12 sessions spaced 4-8 weeks apart (depending on the area of treatment) and then maintenance treatments as needed. Each person will start with a package of 6 and add on packages of 3 as needed. Given the efficacy of the Motus AY, you may need fewer sessions and could go longer before needing a touch-up treatment.

Laser Facial

A laser facial can also be performed with the Motus AY! The stimulation of collagen regrowth via a laser facial effectively softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, tightens pores, improves overall tone and texture, minimizes sun damage, helps to diminish redness, and can treat acne. The laser facial works by gently heating the dermis. Each treatment typically takes 30 minutes, quick enough to swing during a lunch break! This treatment requires no downtime.
